Helleborus 'Moonshine'(pbr)

Christmas Roses or Hellebores are very popular perennials. Mainly because they flower during winter en offer excellent possibilities as pot or tub plant. 'Moonshine' is a sterile hybrid between Helleborus sternii and Helleborus 'White Magic'.

It is an attractive evergreen perennial that blooms with numerous trusses of pale creamy-green flowers, opening pistachio-green. Contrary to most other Hellebores the flowers of 'Moonshine' stand upwards, instead of hanging down. In the garden, the flowerstems can reach a height of about 60cm. They are excellent as cutflowers, due to their good keeping qualities.

When light and heat are controlled well, the grower can extend the flowering period up to 4 months. 'Moonshine' is a healthy, strong and winterhardy plant that can reach a diameter of about 1m in the garden. Such plants can carry over 30 flower racemes. It has a very high resistance to pests and diseases and looks healthy all year.

In pots or tubs it will look great, but also in plantings it is very successful. The "natural appearrance of 'Moonshine' is very popular these days.
